לא מיבעיא קאמר לא מיבעיא ספק הוא שם ספק אינו שם דאי איתיה חי הוא דמפקחין אלא אפילו ספק חי ספק מת מפקחין ולא מיבעיא ספק חי ספק מת דישראל אלא אפילו ספק כותי ספק ישראל מפקחין

What does he teach herewith?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' What is the value of all these hypothetical cases, doubtful savings of life, that he adduces.');"><sup>9</sup></span> - It states a case of 'not only'.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'it is not required'.');"><sup>10</sup></span> Not only must one remove the debris in the case of doubt as to whether he is there or not, as long as one knows that he is alive if he is there; but, even though it be doubtful whether he is alive or not h must be freed from the debris.
